2016 Beechy's Wild West Bonanza

Saturday 27 February 2016

In aid of St Giles School

Amount raised: £1324

Running total to date: £34395

It was decided that cowboys and injuns would be the fancy dress theme for this year.  Or more formally Beechy's Wild West Bonanza...

As our photographer Mike and I couldn't go this year we got our pictures from various sources but we still kept an eye on the decorations which were, as always, quite amazingly inventive!...

The table centres were brilliant with rustic pails, wild daisies, straw and gingham bows.

Several designs were tried out for the serviettes.

This was the first picture that Julie showed me - I think that she had been reading a book on origami - but I thought that they looked a bit like cabbages!

So back to the drawing board for Aunt Margaret ...

The next batch looked much better - like little gingham cowboy hats and neckerchiefs!

Aunt M modelled a few of the props...

But the star of the show was the chuck wagon in the foyer which was constructed by Robin (once again thanks bruv!) - with wheels by Julie (amazing what you can do with a hula hoop and reel of black tape!)

It looked BRILLIANT!

A few of Ian's disco mood lights and some final touches by Julie and it was ready.

Fantastic!...

The tables looked great with their gingham cloths, serviettes and centre pieces...

The rest of the room was decorated with western style scene setters and it was a cowboy menu with Desperate Dan pie and bangers and beans.

The students at St Giles did some great artwork for us...

So - lots of decorations, lots of atmosphere - just needed the party goers - and here they are!...

Firstly - Sherriff Robin standing proudly by his creation - thanks for all the time and effort once again bruv!

It looks like everyone had an amazing time - as usual!

Thank you all once again for your generosity in helping to raise funds for more communication aids for St Giles School.

See you next year!...
